ISA president Jajo Themson reminded the core objectives of the celebration of World Environment Day (WED) as to enhance the awareness and management of nature and its resources. As per the UN General Assembly Resolution 1972 to celebrate on 5th of June every year, the first observance of WED took place in 1974 with the theme "Only one earth".

He further expressed that another prime concern of celebrating the WED is to revive or restore the damaged ecosystem. Additionally, he exhorted that it is the equal responsibility of all global citizens to initiate tree plantation wherever they are towards aiding the UN mission of 350 million hectares of forest to achieve by 2030 so as to limit the 1.5-degree centigrade increase of global climate.
