Speaking on the occasion, the writer Lairenlakpam Shrutikumar highlighted that ‘Nongpoknganba’ was his 11th poetry book.

“I fell in love with poetry and poetic expression around 60 years ago. I was guided by Salam Ibopishak from Sagolband Salam Leirak back then,” he said.

He stated that he originally planned to publish the book in Assam and publishing the book in Imphal was not on the radar. “The conflict broke out when the book was almost complete and that’s when I decided to publish the book in Manipur, my ancestral land,” he said.
