Assam and Tripura together on Tuesday reported a total of 914 COVID-19 positive cases as 16 and 23 new COVID-19 cases were detected in the two states respectively, according to official sources.
With 16 new cases, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam rose to 682 on Tuesday, state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said. Hojai and Golaghat reported six cases each, Darrang reported two cases and Kamrup Metro and Kamrup reported one case each, he said.
"16 new cases of #COVID19+ reported. 6 Hojai, 6 Golaghat, 2 Darrang,1 Kamrup Metro, 1 Kamrup," the minister tweeted.
In Tripura, the total COVID-19 positive case rose to 232 as 23 more people tested positive for the virus. Of the new cases, 18 people returned Maharashtra while the other five were in contacts of postive patients," Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said in a tweet.
With the new detection, Tripura now has 65 active cases. While 165 patients have been treated and discharged from hospitals, two patients have migrated.
In Assam, of the 682 cases, 613 are active cases while 62 others have recovered, three migrated to other states and four succumbed to the disease.
