The 79th Birth Anniversary of Oinam Baldeva Singh was observed on Tuesday at Hotel Nirmala in Imphal West. The observance was organised by the Oinam Baldeva Memorial Trust.

Paying of floral tributes to the portrait of late Oinam Baldeva Singh marked the opening ceremony of the observance.

Cultural activist and theatre practitioner, Lokendra Arambam was conferred with the Oinam Baldeva Lifetime Achievement Award, 2022 during the observance. The award carries a shawl, citation and cash.

Speaking as the chief guest of the observance, member of NEZCC and EZCC, Ksh Jugindro said that late Baldeva is one of the greatest theatre personalities of Manipur and can be regarded as the pioneer of theatre lighting in Manipur.

President of Theatre Centre Manipur Padmashri Wareppa Naba, President of Critics’ Forum Manipur L Gojendra among others were also present during the occasion.
