Speaking at the inaugural function of the two-day festival, LOLY advisor BC Tekcham pointed out that the performance of folk dances by those who are professionals in various festivals for entertainment purposes is different from the ones performed by the professionals and students in terms of the steps and movement.

Tekcham also said that despite the widespread pollution in the state and other unhealthy lifestyles which the state is witnessing today, most of the folk dancers stay fit and healthy due to regular practice.
