Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) of Kangpokpi under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi announced to boycott ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ programme in the district against the state's failure to table ADC Bill, 2021 in the Assembly.

The development comes barely a day after some CSOs of the district under the aegis of Sadar Hills Chief Association (SAHILCA) reportedly called on the Chief Minister to support and welcome the ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ programme.

The opposing group warned that any individual or organisations welcoming the ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ programme shall be treated as 'traitors' to the tribal movement and henceforth all ties with them will be severed.

In the meeting, the CSOs unanimously condemned the alleged appeasement policy of 'Go to Hills 2.0' stating that if the state government is truly serious about hill development then they should table the Manipur ADC Bill, 2021 at the earliest.

"Until then, any Go to Hills program to be undertaken in Kangpokpi District is boycotted and the general population are requested to co-operate in this general boycott", the CSOs resolved.

Opposing group claimed that Sadar Hill Chief Association (SAHILCA) does not represent the civil society organisations of Kangpokpi district and their commitment to the state government for welcoming the 'Go to Hills' programme as per the media release on the Facebook page of the state Chief Minister is not recognised by the people of Kangpokpi district.
