The Shepherd’s Football Academy, Churachandpur organised its first annual felicitation programme at New Lamka Government College hall on Friday.

Khamminthang said that Shepherd’s Football Academy has been a training school that consistently aimed at exposing the potentials of aspiring football students in Churachandpur in cooperation with the Indian Football Academy. The academy had won and lost many tournaments but the attempts were like an experiment to include all the students to get through in the tournaments.
The experienced students will now be playing from Kerala Blasters FC in Indian Super League (ISL) and other clubs, he added.
The academy has signed an MoU with the Indian Football Academy, Mumbai for five years in 2017 and many footballers were produced since then. Moreover, 23 players had gone through trials at Mumbai which was basically to give skill training and better exposure for budding footballers. The academy is also planning to start training of the students by September 15 and more than 70 students will be trained on rotation basis starting from 6 am.
