Tamenglong recorded another 14 fresh COVID-19 positive cases, including four from other districts, on Saturday. With the detection of fresh positive cases of COVID-19, Tamenglong district has surged to 86 total active cases. Meanwhile, four patients who were kept in the isolation ward have recovered.
So far, Tamenglong district has recorded 1,620 positive cases of COVID-19, of which 1,527 patients have been recovered with seven deaths.
Speaking to Imphal Free Press, district surveillance officer of Tamenglong, Dr Rachunlung Savior Kamei said that everyone has a responsibility to control the pandemic. He said that if there is no urgent work, people should not go out of the house.
He further appealed to all the COVID-19 positive patients, who are in home isolation, to remain at home for at least 10 days and requested not to go out even if there is no symptom of the disease.
Meanwhile, following the declaration of containment zones at the areas of Tamenglong ward No.1 to ward No.5, Tamenglong district headquarter wore a deserted look on Saturday. The containment measures have been extended till May 26 following detection of fresh COVID-19 positive cases from local people.
