Woman fined for travelling with fake COVID negative report

The woman who hails from Thoubal district in Manipur was fined Rs 2,000 for violation of guidelines under the Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of COVID-19 Guidelines) Regulation, 2020.

A woman hailing from Thoubal district in Manipur was on Monday fined for travelling with a fake COVID-19 negative test report, official sources said.
 
One Wangkhem Rabina Devi, 21, daughter of Wangkhem Ranjit Singh of Papal Mayai Leikai, Thoubal district travelled from Hyderabad to Imphal on April 22 by Indigo Flight No. 6E6708 Seat No 18F and 6E6181 Seat No 5D via Kolkata using a fake COVID-I9 negative report, stated an order issued by District Magistrate Thoubal, N Bandana Devi.

The order stated that Rs 2,000 fine has been imposed as penalty on Rabina Devi for violation of guidelines under the Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of COVID-19 Guidelines) Regulation, 2020 that was notified on April 20.

It stated that Rabina must execute a bond with sureties for her good behaviour for a period of six months under Section 110 of CrPC, 1973 when she is declared medically fit to appear before the executive magistrate.

After investigation and verification by the surveillance team at Imphal Airport, it was found that Rabina was tested COVID-19 positive on April 21 with sample ID No. 20186628 AP-GOVT.
