Who should take COVID-19 vaccination - NHM clears doubts

Directorate of Health Services, Manipur has issued a clarification to the general public on the prevailing doubts about COVID-19 vaccination.

Directorate of Health Services, National Health Mission (NHM) Manipur has issued a clarification to the general public on the prevailing doubts about COVID-19 vaccination on Wednesday.

All diabetic, high blood pressure and skin allergy patients should take COVID-19 vaccine as it will not boost blood sugar level, BP and allergen level, the clarification stated.

All cancer patients should take COVID-19 vaccine irrespective of co-morbidities and staging as the vaccine does not aggravate these conditions, it stated.

All heart patients on stable conditions should take COVID-19 vaccine as the vaccine does not aggravate heart ailments, it mentioned.

For patients with kidney ailments, it further stated that all kidney disease, dialysis and transplant patients should get COVID-19 vaccine. Patients on dialysis, however, should get a vaccine on non-dialysis day to avoid “blood thinner related issues,” the clarification stated.

For patients with liver diseases, all liver disease patients in stable conditions should take COVID-19 vaccine, it added.
