Manipur’s COVID-19 confirmed tally crossed 29,600 as the daily new positive cases surged above 30 on Friday, according to the state health department.
The daily COVID-19 positive cases in the state had dipped to 18 on Thursday from 21 on Wednesday.
No COVID-19 related deaths were reported on Friday and the death toll stood at 376, while the cumulative positive tally reached 29,610 with 31 new positive cases.
The new positive cases on Friday included 12 from Imphal West, nine from Imphal East, two each from Bishnupur, Kangpokpi and Thoubal, and one each from Churachandpur, Kakching, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul, according to the latest update from the state health deaprtment.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, Aditional director and spokesperson, Manipur Health Department, stated in the release.
The total number of recovered cases increased to 29,069 as seven more patients recovered, the release stated. It also stated that the recovery rate dipped to 98.17 per cent on Friday from Thursday’s 98.25 percent. The recovery rate on Wednesday was 98.27 per cent and 98.32 per cent on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases rose to 165 on Friday from 141 on Thursday. On Wednesday the number of active cases was 133 and 118 on Tuesday, the release added.
In all, the state has received 5,91,431 COVID-19 test results, including the results of 1,193 tests received on Friday, according to the state health department.
Air passengers who travelled to the state on April 15 by Air India flight AI-713 in row 3-9 are to inform the Common COVID-19 Control Room No 18003453818 or respective district surveillance officers immediately, the release added.
COVID-19 Vaccination drive in Manipur April 15
As per the latest update by the health department, a total of 1401 people were vaccinated on Thursday. With it, a total of 102470 people in the state have been vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine till date. The total number of COVID-19 vaccine beneficiaries in the state crossed one lakh at 1,01,069. In all, 32,141 healthcare workers have been vaccinated as of Thursday.
There are no severe reactions or allergies or adverse event following the vaccination till date, and all who suffered from mild reactions and in homecare have recovered, the state department added.
