Manipur's COVID-19 active caseload drops to 57

Five more persons, including two Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur on Friday.

The number of COVID-19 active cases in Manipur dropped to 57 on Friday with  12 more recovered cases, according to a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room.

With the new recoveries, the cumulative number of recovered cases in the state increased to 28,975 and the state's recovery rate is 98.53 per cent, the release stated.

The state's caseload also surged to 29,406 as five more persons, including two Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel tested positive for COVID-19 in a span of 24 hours, it stated.

The new positive cases from the general population included one each from Imphal East, Imphal West and Tengnoupal. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.

It further stated that that air passengers who travelled to the state on March 31 by Indigo flight 6E-2251 seated in rows 16-22, 30-40 and Air India Flight A1-889 seated in rows 12-18 are to inform the COVID-19 Common Control Room at 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO).

Meanwhile, 377 more people were administered COVID-19 vaccine in Manipur. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in the state has risen to 86,708, including 31,624 healthcare workers, the release added.
