Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) started its camp sitting in Jiribam district where various human rights cases were taken up during the event, MHRC stated on Friday.
Under the leadership of MHRC’s acting chairperson Khaidem Mani, the officials of MHRC started the sitting camp on January 27 and in continuation on Friday, took up various human rights related cases on the initiation of Centre for social development and local NGOs at district headquarter of Jiribam, a release stated.
Acting chairperson also attended the one-day human rights awareness programme at Latingkhal Maha Prabhu Mandop Jiribam, it stated.
A team of MHRC officials under the leadership of acting chairperson inspected the working condition of Jiribam jail-hospital-Jiri Ima Keithel, DC office, SP office and looked into the human rights related issues concerning them, and promised MHRC’s assistance in the field of their respective human rights concerns, it added.
