There is no war-like sitiuation between India anda China in Arunachal border areas and in the event of any kind of situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi can deal with it, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said on Monday on the border issue with China.

Recently, there were reports of escalation in border row with China in Ladakh and other border areas. Videos purportedly showing clashes between the Indian Army and China’s People's Liberation Army in eastern Ladakh were being circulated in the social media on Sunday.

However, the chief minister said there was no “war-like” situation between India and China in the state border areas, and told reporters in Itanagar, "We are ready to face any kind of situation, the Defence Ministry has made it clear, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi can handle any situation".

Urging the people not to panic, Khandu said, "The situation in the Arunachal border areas is calm".

The Indian Army too had debunked the news and said in a release on Sunday that there was no violence of any sort and “the contents of the video being circulated are not authentic”.
