A legal awareness-cum-awareness campaign on health advisories and safe practices in connection with COVID-19 under Access to Justice, Northeast and JK initiatives was held at Kavanam Legal Aid Clinic on Sunday.
As a part of the campaign, which was held in connection with the 70th anniversary of the adoption of Constitution of India and awareness for safe practices to reduce the risk of COVID-19, District Legal Services Authority, Senapati launched a programme for putting up hoardings, distribution of essential items and medi-kits to the villagers of 53 villages and one children home, installation of hoardings with Important contact/helpline numbers, distribution of leaflets and publicity regarding safe practices to reduce COVID-19 spread.
It is said that the programme will continue for four days and is aimed at reaching out to the nook and corner of Senapati and Kangpokpi districts. The programme was launched by district and sessions judge, Senapati, Samom Bijen and chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Senapati.
It was attended by CJM/Senapati, Ashem Tarunakumari; secretary, DLSA, Senapati; members of Senapati Bar, staff and PLVs.
DLSA Senapati has also announced that an online essay and painting competitions is being organised on the topic “Legal Duties and responsibilities of citizens at the time of COVID-19 pandemic”. It has informed that the last date for submission is October 10, 2020.
The competitions are for Senapati and Kangpokpi districts and the entries are to be sent in the email of DLSA Senapati, i.e., dlsasenapati@yahoo.com.
The programme was organised by District Legal Services Authority, Senapati in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority and department of justice and ministry of law and justice, government of India.
