After facing a road mishap, one 50-year-old man from Heirok Part-II, Thoubal succumbed to his injury at RIMS on Thursday.
According to the police, the ill-fated incident occurred on Wednesday and the man breathed his last on Thursday at RIMS.
The deceased was identified as Khundongbam Biren, son of Raghumani of Heirok, Part-II, Thoubal.
The police report further informed that on Wednesday at around 7:20 pm the man was hit by a Honda Activa bearing registration number MN01AE-4863 plying from Khongjom towards Wangjing while he was crossing the road near Khongjom War Memorial Gate located along NH 102 Imphal-Moreh Road under Khongjom PS.
As a result of which both the pedestrian and the scooter rider sustained serious injuries and they were evacuated to RIMS for medical treatment, but the former expired.
Police has taken up a case in the matter and the dead body was handed over to the family members after performing post mortem.
