Tripura has reported 23 more COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 242 and active cases to 74, officials said on Wednesday.
While, five new patients were Chennai and Bangalore returnees, four were Mumbai returnees and one railway pantry staff, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said in a tweet on late Wednesday.
"1020 samples have been tested today for COVID-19, out of which 10 people detected positive. 5 returnees from Chennai and Bangalore, 4 returnees from Mumbai and 1 railway pantry staff," the CM tweeted.
Of the 242 COVID-19 cases, 165 patients have recovered and discharged, while three others have migrated to other states. Majority of the COVID-19 cases in the state are returnees from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and other states, officials said.
On Tuesday, Tripura reported four new cases.
