NB Konjengba on Wednesday released a book of short stories entitled, Won’t I Marry translated from Yengkhom Indira’s Luhonglaroi, at the writer’s residence in Thoubal Wangmataba, Manipur.
Won’t I Marry, published by Seawaves Manipur, is an English translation of Y Indira’s original, Luhonglaroi which was published in 2015 and translated by NB Konjengba.
The event was attended by retired wing commander AD Singh; president of Manipur Sahitya Samiti Thoubal S Tomba; president of Seawaves Manipur M Rajendra; president of Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal branch Wangjing and translator of the book NB Konjengba along with many renowned authors and aspiring authors of Manipur.

Speaking on the occasion, AD Singh emphasised on the importance of translating notable Manipuri literary works into English, so as to diversify the demography and extend the reach of the Manipuri literature on par globally.
The original author Y Indira narrated her inspiration and journey behind her book ‘Luhonglaroi’.
Some of the most notable releases of Y Indira includes, ‘Kanglaba Chenghi Mayal’ (short stories, 2000); ‘Mangleibak ki Manglan’ (poems, 2002); ‘Punsi Khongchatsida’ (Poems, 2004); ‘Thammoi gi Langla’ (short stories, 2008); ‘In This Journey of Life’ (poems, 2012); ‘Sojourn’ (poems, 2012); ‘Lamdanba’ (poems, 2013).
