Manipur on Sunday recorded 63 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,23,731 while the death toll mounted to 1,921 with one more fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 3.7 per cent.
The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Sunday was from Churachandpur. The deceased had comorbidities and was not vaccinated, according to a release issued by state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 32 and 12 positive cases respectively. Nine cases were reported from Kamjong, four from Churachandpur, two from Thoubal and one each from Jiribam, Kakching, Tamenglong and Ukhrul.
All precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
The state also recorded 62 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,21,102. The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent, the release added.
Manipur now has 708 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 454 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 57 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 19,63,833 (first dose: 12,48,726 second dose: 7,15,107).
