Nagaland defeated Manipur by 6 wickets in the U-19 Men's Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2021-22 played at JSCK Oval Ground, Ranchi.
In a limited 38 over match, Nagaland won the toss and opted to field first where Manipur in their innings managed to put up 170 runs for 10 wickets from 36.2 overs.
Batsman Suresh Singh top scored with 80 runs from 98 deliveries while Dominic contributed 30 runs off 21 balls while the rest of the other batsmen failed to cross the double digit mark. Manipur skipper Jotin made 6 runs. Neizekho was the most successful bowler for Nagaland as he captured 3 wickets for 33 runs from 8 overs while Raja Swarnkar and Kelhousilie Zaputou fetched 2 wickets each.
In reply, Nagaland relied on Thejasilie Savino, who cracked an unbeaten 53 runs from 73 balls along with Sujal Prasad, who also remained not out with 31 runs from 37 balls to reach the target in 34.5 overs losing 4 wickets in the process.
Other notable runs contributors are Neizekho who hit 19 runs and Nripen Rai with 20 runs. Manipur bowlers Jotin, Kalyan, Vivekananda and Somokanta grabbed 1 wicket each.
