Over 28.14 lakh voters will decide the fate of 259 candidates in the 13th Legislative Assembly election of Tripura on Thursday. According to the data updated by Chief Election Officer (CEO) Tripura on Twitter, there are 28,14,548 voters in the state, including 14,15,233 males, 13,99,289 females, 62 third gender and 10,344 service voters.  

Polling for the 60-member Tripura Legislative Assembly will be held from 7 am to 4pm across 3,337 polling stations, the CEO stated, adding there are 97 all women managed polling stations, 44 PwD managed polling stations, and 88 model polling stations.

As per the data, there are 17,297 PwD voters, 37,985 80+ voters and 766 100+ voters in Tripura.

Of the total 259 candidates in fray for the Tripura Assembly election 2023, 20 candidates are women. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded 55 candidates, including 12 women candidates while its ally IPFT will be contesting in six assembly seats. The Congress is contesting in 13 assembly constituencies, while the CPM is contesting in 47 seats. The Tipra Motha will contest in 42 assembly seats, the Trinamool Congress in 28 constituencies while there 58 independent candidates.

As many as 31,000 polling personnel and 25,000 security personnel of central forces have been deployed. Moreover, 31,000 employees of the state armed police and the state police have been deployed for the smooth conduct of the Tripura Assembly election 2023, according to reports. 
The counting of votes and results will be declared on March 2.
