With the Tripura Legislative Assembly elections 2023 approaching, the Congress party has been strengthening its campaign activities with support from national leaders and other leaders from neighbouring states.
From Manipur, MPCC president K Meghachandra and AICC Steering Committee member Gaikhangam joined the election campaign as star campaigners since the last few days.
As instructed by AICC, both the leaders toured extensively and had met with people from different walks of life and sought votes for the Congress candidates, Birajit Sinha and Chayan Bhattacharjee who will be contesting from 53-Kailasahar assemlbly constituency and 54-Dharmanagar assembly constituency.
The Congress is giving a good fight, and it is highly expected that there will be a change in the state (Tripura), as per observations made by Congress leaders, MPCC said in a release.
Party leaders from Manipur is hopeful that the party would return to power in Tripura to serve the people, it added. The Tripura Legislative Assemblky election 2023 is scheduled on February 16.
