The award will be given to Manipuri feature films, documentary films, short films and music videos produced and censored by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2020 till December 31, 2021.
Though India is diversified with various languages, dialects, cultures and traditions, any films produced from any particular state should not be termed ‘regional’ films, Aribam Syam Sharma said.
Special feature of the festival includes ‘a rare retrospective of Aribam Syam Sharma, the master filmmaker of Manipur,’ followed by the celluloid screening, of some of his masterpieces.

MFDC is created for streaming Manipuri films online by a private enterprise.
