The post of chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) has been lying vacant for six years.
The examination is for all officers of the Government of Manipur for whom Departmental Examination is mandatory in accordance with the Services/Recruitment Rules.
Three candidates, who had appeared in the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Main) Examination, 2016, filed a writ petition before the high court for directing the MPSC to allow them to update their data and allow them to appear in the main examination.
A writ petition was filed before the Manipur High Court praying to quash or amend the Rules of Procedures and Conduct of Business, 2011; Rules for conducting MCSCCE Main, 2016 before conducting the afresh examination.
All direct recruitment henceforth, against sanctioned posts under the state government and its agencies (including PSUs, companies, societies, autonomous bodies) shall be made on contractual mode/basis with clear cut benefits of public service to be made available in terms of leave, EPF and minimum allowances.
The MPSC assured that it would not rest till it ensures fairness in all examinations and fulfill all responsibilities entrusted to the commission.
All the candidates who had qualified in MCSCC Examination (Prelim), 2016 and willing to appear for the main examination, have to apply to MPSC for candidature.
