The JAC against the death of (L) S Ginthianlal Vaiphei in connection with an alleged hit-and-run incident called off its indefinite general strike after reaching an agreement with the government on Thursday.
The JAC has given an ultimatum to the government/police to arrest the culprit by January 20, 2023 failing which they will affect a general strike from midnight of January 21, 2023 in the whole area of Churachandpur District .
Family members and protesters demanded the arrest of the culprit of the road mishap that took place on the night of June 17 in Porompat DC, Imphal East district road.
The student body also urged the state government and concerned district police to find the accused at the earliest.
