Manipur Amateur Karate–do Association (MAKA) on Saturday announced that the World Karate Federation, which is the world body for Karate sports recognised by the International Olympic Committee, has upgraded the grade of four Karatekas of MAKA through the Karate India Organisation (KIO).
A release by MAKA stated that Shihan Mutum Bankim Singh who was certified 7th Dan has been upgraded to homologated 7th Dan, while Sensei Soibam Bindeshori Chanu who was certified 5th Dan has been upgraded to 6th Dan, and Sensei Soibam Arunkumar who was certified 4th Dan has been upgraded to 5th Dan, furthermore, Senpai Soram Chinglen Luwang who was certified 2nd Dan has been upgraded to 3rd Dan.
The certificates were received by the delegates of Karate India Organisation during the 25th World Karate Championship 2021 held at Dubai, UAE, and presented to the designated karatekas on Friday, it added.
