Senior National Women's Football Championship: Manipur fall short of reaching semi-finals

Manipur, who was in Group B, managed the third place with 9 points in the 27th Senior National Women's Football Championship 2022-23 played at Amritsar, Punjab.

Manipur, the defending champion who had won the title 21 times, suffered its worst performance failing to make it to the semi-final despite beating Himachal Pradesh by 5-0 goals, in the 27th Senior National Women's Football Championship 2022-23 played at Amritsar, Punjab.

Manipur, who was in Group B, managed the third place with 9 points in the meet. From the group, Haryana emerged on top with 13 points while Railways finished in the second spot with 12 points, booking their semi-final berth. From Group A, Tamil Nadu and Odisha made it to the semi-final. 

The semi-final dates are yet to be fixed wherein Haryana will face Odisha while Railways will meet Tamil Nadu.

In the last league match, O Babita scored two goals while Y Pakpi, I Prameshwori and N Nadeshwori pick up a goal each. Manipur won three matches and lost two games in the league matches.
