RULE Malom pulls off 26 runs wins over KCC Kongba to stake a place in the final of the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament 2021-22 played at Model Higher Secondary School & Oriental College Ground, Imphal West.
RULE Malom will face MPSC Manipur Central Jail in the final match, with the date yet to be announced.
The second semi final saw KCC Kongba winning the toss and opted to field first in a reduced 35 overs match, where RULE Malom batsmen played their hearts out, managing 190 runs for 8 wickets from 35 overs.
RULE got off to a solid start with opener S.Suresh hitting 44 runs while M.Sudhir got 21 runs and later A.Bikash steadied the innings with 41 runs from 34 balls. Tailender batsman Th.Kishan remained not out with 21 runs while Rk Herachandra made 17 runs.
KCC medium pacer Y Sheiteendra Singh bagged three wickets for 40 runs from seven overs while Boba Singh, Singthoi, Sanjit Sharma and Rohen Singh claimed one wicket each.
Chasing the target, KCC Kongba top order batsman K.Manojit Sharma took the mantle with 31 runs after the fall of opener Mranojit Singh, who got out at 10 runs. Skipper N.Dijaraj tried his best to keep his team momentum, hitting 44 runs but as wickets fell at the end, he had no choice. Rohen Singh cracked 24 runs but proved not enough for the sad exit.
RULE Malom Th.Kishan claimed 3 wickets while N Sarojkumar, A Rakesh bagged 2 wickets each, N Denin and Jay Singh H took one wicket each.
RULE player Ayekpam Rakesh Singh was declared the Man of the Match for his 41 runs and two wickets haul.
