PCC Mayaikoibi posted their third win beating Muvanlai Athletic Foundation by 67 runs in the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament 2022 played at Langthabal Public Ground, Imphal West on Friday.
This is PCC Mayaikoibi’s third victory from five matches and still in retention for a berth in the semi final knockout qualifier in the tournament. Batting first, PCC batsman made 194 runs for 9 wickets from their allotted 40 overs match.
Opener Ch Tyson and Vikash laid a strong foundation, putting up 41 runs and 20 runs each for the PCC team. Later H Dhanashayam made 25 runs and M Jobanta Sharma got 24 runs. Muvanlai bowlers Sanjay Kaphie, Soorat Kaphie, L Thangsuanlian and Haolengou Kipgen picked up 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, Muvanlai Athletic Foundation were bundled out for 127 runs for 10 wickets from 29.3 overs with opener Haolengou Kipgen top scoring with 34 runs while Md.Aslam remained not out with 18 runs.
PCC bowler M Jobanta Sharma claimed 4 wickets while Th Santosh got 3 wickets among the top wicket takers. PCC player M Jobanta Sharma was adjudged as Man of the Match for his 24 runs and 4 wickets haul.
In the other matches, YUCC Kwakeithel Moirangpurel beat SDC Laipham Khunou by 88 runs played at Model Higher Secondary School and Oriental College Ground while MPSC Manipur Central Jail beat TCMDC Thongju by 13 runs played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
