MNCA Superplate Tournament: RULE Malom, MPSC wins big

RULE bowler Jay Singh Haorakcham and Th. Kishan claimed 3 wickets each while Sarojkumar and Ananda got 1 wicket each.

RULE Malom brightened their chances in the semi final knockout qualifier registering their sixth consecutive victory beating ESU Wangkhei by 5 wickets in the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament 2021-22 played at Model Higher Secondary School & Oriental College Ground, Imphal West.

Sending ESU Wangkhei Palace Compound batsman to bat first, the ESU top order finds the going tough but however the middle order batsman made a desperate attempt to build up a respectable total, making 117 runs for 8 wickets from 25 overs.

Oinam Motilal remained unbeaten with 23 runs while Hemchand Y got 19 runs. RULE bowler Jay Singh Haorakcham and Th. Kishan claimed 3 wickets each while Sarojkumar and Ananda got 1 wicket each.

Chasing the target, RULE batsman does their part well with Jay Singh Haorakcham hitting 25 runs while Rk. Hemchandra made an unbeaten 23 runs and N. Sarojkumar remained not out with 21 runs to surpassed the target in 23.3 over for 5 wickets for the victory. ESU bowler O.Motilal captured 2 wickets. Later Jay Singh Haorakcham was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 3 wickets haul and 25 runs.

MPSC Manipur Central Jail beat YUCC Kwakeithel Moirangpurel by 9 wickets played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

YUCC rode on Kadamjit Moirangthem, who got an unbeaten 32 runs, to post a modest total of 105 runs for 7 wickets from 25 overs. Devraj Nongthombam remained not out with 11 runs. MPSC bowler M. Bijoykumar picked up 3 wickets while Indraban bagged 2 wickets.

MPSC batsman had some lusty hitting time with opener N. Gelson making an unbeaten 32 runs while P. Bonem also cracked an unbeaten 30 runs to reach the target in 17 overs for the loss of 1 wickets.

S Sunil contributed 26 runs. Kadamjit claimed the lone wicket of the MPSC team. MPSC bowler M. Bijoykumar claimed the Man of the Match award for his 3 wickets haul.
