The Churachandpur District Level Inter-School Sports-cum-Literary Meet 2022 organised by KSO, Churachandpur was inaugurated on Wednesday at Peace Ground, Tuibong, Churachandpur with Minister Govindas Khanthoujam attending the event as chief guest.
With MLA of Saikot AC, Paolienlal Haokip as chief host, MLA of Henglep AC, Letzamang Haokip attended as guest of honour while Director of Legacy Faith Academy, Deborah Haokip attended as functional president.
Minister Govindas Khanthoujam reminded the students that they are the pillars of the nation while also lauding the KSO, Churachandpur for their effort in organising the meet.
Churachandpur is well known for sports and youths from the district and Kangpokpi are playing all over India, the Minister said and assured that the best of facilities will be made available by the BJP government in the state led by the CM.
The minister also spoke about the importance of education especially in the health sector and stated that for such reason the Churachandpur Medical College was set up. He also spoke about recruitment of Medical Officers and highlighted the establishment of National Sports University at Imphal for which funds will be released soon by the central government led by PM Modi.
The functional president and Guest of honour called on the students to participate and interact with their fellow students, wishing them high level success in their endeavours.
MLA Paolienlal Haokip also called on the students to dream big while also revealing that the chief guest, who is also the Minister of sports, told him that the event will be made an annual event with support from the minister. All necessary fund will be made available to improve the Peace Ground and the Community Hall that was used for today's opening ceremony too, the host said.
Over 20 schools of the district are participating in the first district level inter-school sports cum Literary Meet 2022 where they will compete in Football, Volleyball and Marathon for sports and Quiz, Debate, Essay writing and elocution for the literary.
