KCDO Kongpal crush SDC by 45 runs in MNCA Plate Tournament 2023-24

KCDO Kongpal nailed down SDC Laipham Khunou by 45 runs in the 8th MNCA Plate Tournament 2023-24 played at Model Hr Secondary School & Oriental College Ground.

The mainstay of the KCDO innings was the effort of middle order batsman Md. Azizur Rehaman who struck an unbeaten 64 runs and bowler Ksh Devendro who scalped 4 wickets for the win.

Batting first KCDO put up 169 runs for 9 wickets from 35 overs with skipper N Prakash making 19 runs aiding Azizur Rehaman’s effort. SDC bowler Kh James claimed 3 wickets for 37 runs from 7 overs while Zaid Khan claimed 2 wickets.

In reply, SDC top order withstood the bowling attack from KCDO with skipper Kh. Subashchandra making 15 runs while Rahis Khan made 24 runs and Lenin Singh got 20 runs but had to bow out as rest of the batsmen failed to click, making 116 runs for 10 wickets from 29.3 overs.

KCDO bowler Devendro claimed 4 wickets for 23 runs from 7 overs and got the Man of the Match while Md Abdul Kayum fetched 3 wickets for 20 runs.

In another match, CDCC Sagolband beat YWC Patsoi by 172 runs at Public Ground, Khangabok.

CDCC put up a huge total of 296 runs for 5 wickets from 36 overs with Rakesh leading the score with 82 runs while Monesh got 42 runs and Atuar Rahaman remained not out with 60 runs. YWC bowler Johnson claimed 2 wickets for 49 runs from 6 overs. 

Chasing the target, YWC were bundled out for 129 runs for 10 wickets from 24 overs with CDCC bowler Jodiba rampaging the innings with a man-of-the-match 5 wickets for 51 runs from 7 overs while Md. Ataur got 2 wickets.

Meanwhile, THAU Thangmeiband pulled off a 3-wicket win over Oscar Paona Bazar played at Moijing  Public Ground, Thoubal. Oscar Paona Bazar made 132 runs for 10 wickets from 24.3 overs while in reply, THAU surpassed the target in 29.4 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.

THAU player Aden Singh bagged the Man of the Match for his 17 runs and 4 wickets haul.

In the meantime, IBSA Yumnam Leikai was awarded full points by the MNCA after RRCC got withdrawn from the tournament.
