Western Valley Area Sporting Association kicked off its first ever Grassroots and Basic Football coaching in Khambathel Village, Chandel, Manipur on Tuesday. The course is being organised as a part of the association's development programme and to groom and hunt young talented players.
The coaching is participated by 41 participants from all over the villages under Western Valley Area. The coaching instructor is Js Alover Anal, AIFF grassroot leader course and assisted by Huten Kokoson Anal and ST Ningphapam Games & Sports Secretary and Assistant Games and Sports Secretary respectively.
The coaching will continue till January 11 and will be held at Khambathel and Unopat playgrounds. After which, the Association will kick off its 55th Annual Sports meet at Khambathel Village playground and this year's Annual Sports meet will be marked with another special item I.e. inclusion of Grassroots football matches for 9 years to 13 years category.
Keynote address was given by Khalter Khampa, president of the association, followed by an act of blessing from Rev KL Tangthu, pastor, Khambathel Baptist Church.
