Lambung YCC beat Riverlane YC by 4-2 goals during penalty shootout to claim the Champion title of the DC Chandel Trophy 2021 organised by DSA Chandel at Mini Sports Complex.
Both teams had a hectic time as they engrossed themselves in mid field tussle, rather than going for the kill to the goal, to render the normal time goalless.
With kicks from the penalty mark pressed into service to decide the ultimate winner, both teams converted two penalty kicks each with Riverson, Oliver finding the mark for Riverlane YCC while for Lambung YCC, Mosima, Amjit made it to perfection.
However, the Riverlane YC team misses both third and fourth kicks from Denny and Hringkhungam. Though for Lambung YCC team, Shelpa mistimed his kick yet his teammate Angnahring and Dimusing converted their kicks, to lay their hand on the glittering trophy.
Lambung YCC collected the winning cheque amount of Rs 50,000 along with the Champion Trophy while Riverlane FC had to contend with Rs 30,000 with Runners Up trophy.
The Best Player of the meet was bagged Shingval Anal of Tampi FC while the Top Scorer award was fetch by DB Robert of Charangching Khullen YC with 6 goals and the Man of the Final Match was given to HB Oliver of Riverlane YC. The Best Team award was provided to Purum Tampak SC and Tampi FC.
