Classic Football Academy, Chingmeirong and Neroca FC settled for a goalless draw to share a point each in the 63rd Sir Churachand Singh Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2021-22 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
The match was a highly anticipated match to determine who goes on to the semi-final stages from Group B but battle did not happen and to settle for a lackluster goalless draw. However still both teams have a fond hope of making it to the semi-final as a second top team from the three Groups will be picked to fill up the fourth semi-finalist spot.
It can be mentioned that AMFA had classified the nine teams in three Groups in the quarter final league rounds, to determine three semi-finalists. KLASA Keinou is the lone team who had made their semi-final from Group A.
Neroca FC in their previous quarter final league round against Muvanlai Athletics, Kangpokpi saw the former beat the latter by 2-1 goals while Classic Football Academy beat Muvanlai Athletics by 4-1 goals, collecting three points each from the win. The goal aggregates were also identical as both teams had one goal advantage.
In Sunday's match, SSU Singjamei will take on Sagolband United to decide the semi-finalist from Group C.
