Shuttler Ksh Maheshwari Devi of Imphal East District Badminton Association has lifted the Women's Singles title in the ongoing 67th State Open Badminton Championship 2023 played at MBA Indoor Stadium, DM College Campus.
In the final match, Maheshwari Devi beat Valinda Huidrom of Imphal West District Badminton Association by 21-16, 21-13 points to clinch the championship title.
In the women's doubles, the pair of Purnima and Somibala of KDBM beat L Diana and Valinda Huidrom of Imphal West District Badminton Association by 23-21 and 24-22 points to claim the title.
As for the Girls U-15 category, Leonie Tayenjam of Imphal West District Badminton Association beat compatriot Ch Bellaria Devi by 21-7 and 21-7 points while Sushanta M of KDBA claimed the Boys U-15 Single title beating Martion Ingudam of BDBA by 21-18 and 21-14 points.
In the Junior Boys Team event, KDBA took the title beating TDBA by 3-0 game.
In the single event, E Shitaljit beat Y Sudhiskumar of TDBA by 21-14, 9-21 and 15-21 points while in the Boys Double event, KDBA pair of K Dayanandas and W Juvaraj overcame S Gung and Y Sudiskumar of TDBA by 21-19, 18-21 and 11-21 points.
As for the Junior Girls Team event, Imphal East District Badminton Association shuttlers beat BDBA by 2-0 games as well. M Priya Devi beat Bebina Thingbaijam by 21-8 and 21-3 points while in the Girls Double, the pair of K Gunjan and M Priya beat Dolly Rajkumari and Linthoi Huirem by 21-7 and 21-3 points.
