AMOFA Moirang blanked ASSA Sangaiyumpham by 3-0 goals in the 63rd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2021-22 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlomg Thongkhong.

There seems no rush in the game as both displayed a cool approach, waiting for gaps and loose balls. With time ticking on for the first half whistle, AMOFA got their chance in the 41 minute when K Newton found the opening from a lofted shot to bring up the leading goal.

Concerned with the goal deficit, ASSA Sangaiyumpham tried to lift their game but AMOFA, who is better experienced among the two, bring up challenges to get possession of the ball and in that manner increased the lead when H Johnson scored in 64 minute to maintain 2-0 goals lead.

Without wasting any more minutes, AMOFA kept the pressure on and thereby came up with the winning goal from H Romen in 88 minute for the victory. There was no yellow card booking in the match.

In the other match, KIYC Khetrigao delivers 3-1 goals win over MCK. Seasoned player L Gouro proved to the hero of the day for KIYC as he struck all three goals for his hattrick.

Gouro came up with his first goal in the 20 minute and went on to add his second goal in 26 minute to post 2-0 lead. Despite marking him by its opponent players, Gouro slips through with his willy run, posing great threat. He finally was able to come up with his hattrick goal in 65 minute to bring raptures to his bench.

However, in the melee, MCK managed to pull back one goal from M Malemnganba in the 68 minute but off to no anvil as KIYC danced their way to victory.

Meanwhile, AFC Thoubal has pulled themselves off from the ongoing 63rd CC Meet, citing Covid-19 infection to one of its officials. The AMFA has accepted its pleas for withdrawal of the team from the meet.
