This day she held him, for the last time,

Knowing she must let him go, in his prime,

Her heart hoped he'd return, through the door,

With his bag and his smile, like before.

She misses his quirky, dorky dance,

The silly games they played, their chance,

To pinch and laugh, in joyful spree,

His touch, his kisses, his scent, all she could see.

His photos, his clothes, remnants of the past,

In the empty house, they now forever last,

She clings to memories, they're all she can find,

The empty bed, the chair, a constant remind.

Her heart still waits, yearning for his return,

The last "I love you," the last touch to discern,

Leaving her broken, with a shattered soul,

A daughter's lament, a loss she can't console.

His absence creates a void, forever unhealed,

A wretched heart, by memories sealed,

Farewell, dear heart, her final adieu,

To a father who was cherished, her world, so true.
