Nagaland: Total lockdown in Kohima extended till August 7

The extension has been necessitated by the recent surge in the COVID-19 cases in the district outside the quarantine centres, the District Task Force said.

The  District Task Force (DTF) Kohima has extended the ongoing total lockdown in the Kohima Municipal Area under Kohima Sadar Jurisdiction for another seven days from august 1 as COVID-19 positive cases are being reported outside designated quarantine centres.

“The extension has been necessitated by the recent surge in the COVID-19 cases in the district outside the quarantine centres,” the DTF said.

“The new order is in continuation of the order passed on July 23 and as per the decision of the District Task Force (DTF) Kohima during its emergency meeting on July 31. All the provisions of the total lockdown order as given on July 23 will be in force”, it added.

Earlier, Kohima was locked down for a week from July 25-31.

The total lockdown in Dimapur will expire on Sunday, August 2. 

The Dimapur DTF has decided to relax the total lockdown and impose a partial lockdown from August 3.

During this partial lockdown, shops selling essential items and vegetables would be allowed to open between 9 am and 2 pm on a daily basis except on Sundays. Wholesale markets would be allowed to open from 5 am to 9 am.
