World White Cane Day: 'Walkathon for Equality’ held in Churachandpur

A short symbolic march by the differently-abled persons along with para legal volunteers was carried out.

As a part of the  observation of World White Cane Day, a 'Walk-a-thon for Equality’ was organised on Friday by Legal Aid Clinic, Pearsonmun and Central for Community Initiative in collaboration with te District Legal Service Authority, Churachandpur.

A short symbolic march by the differently-abled persons along with para legal volunteers was carried out. Differently-abled people walked to the DC office where they demonstrated the use of white cane. Churachandpur DC, Pawan Yadav and his staff volunteered in the demonstration.

Later, a memorandum was submitted to the DC by the differently-abled persons asking to look into their grievances. The programme was also attended by staff of CCI and team of DLSAC led by Churachandpur CJM, Janggoulen Haokip and other officials from the DC office.
