A team of Kakching district commando, in continuation of ‘War on Drugs 2.0’ campaign, seized 610 grams of Heroin powder and arrested four drug peddlers, including a mother and son, at around 11.10 am from Pallel commando check post, Leimanai Chingjin on Saturday.
The arrested persons have been identified as Lamvah Haokip (38), wife of Onthong Haokip of S P Saichang, Molnoi Tengnoupal; Letkhogin Haokip (18), son of Onthong Haokip of S P. Saichang, Molnoi Tengnoupal; Ch Nemneikim Mate (43), wife of Ch Chunglet Mate of Khonomphai Village, Tengnoupal and Nengneichong Haokip (37), wife of Paongam Haokip of Zalenphai Part-1, Moreh ward number 1, Tengnoupal.

The commando team, led by officer-in-charge of Kakching commando unit, Inspector Md Abash, under the overall supervision of superintendent of police, Kakching district, Shrey Vats, arrested the drug peddlers during frisking and checking at Pallel CDO Check-post at Leimanai Chingjin, Kakching district.
Police said the commando team, during their activity, detained a speedy four-wheeler (Wagon R) smoke grey in colour bearing registration number MN02A-4499 coming from Pallel side towards Kakching along Indo-Myanmar Road.

After verification of the occupants and during examination of the vehicle, 50 soap cases containing suspected heroin powder weighing around 610 grams (approximately) were detected.
The detected drugs were seized and arrested the occupants at the spot.
Later the arrested persons along with the seizures were taken to Kakching police station for further necessary legal action.
