A team of Commando, Imphal West along with a team of Lilong PS and Commando Thoubak, under the supervision of M Amit Singh, Additional SP(Ops), Imphal West, arrested one vehicle lifter on Saturday.
The arrested person has been identified as 23-year-old Md Rizwan @ Nanao son of (L) Md Habibur Rahaman of Lilong Haoreibi Awang Leikai. He was arrested from his house at around 10 pm.
According to police sources, one Activa 6G Magnificent copper in colour bearing Regd. No. MN01AM 2244 and Engine No. JF91E-G-7096961 was recovered from his house during the search.
During verification, he disclosed that the said vehicle was a stolen vehicle and the same was handed to him today for modification.
On further inquiry, he revealed that the said vehicle was found to be stolen from the gali located at the building of Eastern Hardware Store, Thangal Bazar, Imphal on Saturday, which refers to FIR No. 23(4) 2023 of City police station.
