Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar along with Lok Sabha MP Raju Bista and Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba visited the landslide site near Tupul in Noney district, Manipur to take stock of the situation on Sunday.
On the sidelines of the inspection, Subhas Sarkar said the visit was a part of his four-day trip to Manipur.
He said Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw immediately contacted state officials around 8.15 am on the day of the landslide.
Sarkar extended his appreciation to the rescue team. Apart from the human rescue team, dog squads and sensor machines were added to make the search rescue mission more effective, he said.
He prayed for speedy recovery of those who are undergoing treatment at hospital.
Lok Sabha MP Raju Bista, who is also the BJP national spokesperson, motivated the rescue teams.
The rescue mission might take some time; however, it will be continuing till all the missing persons are recovered, he added. State vice president, BJP N Nimbus; local MLA, Dinganglung Gangmei, who is also the chairman of Hill Area Committee (HAC); DC of the Noney and others accompanied the visit.
