Unidentified miscreants vandalise UFC Gym

Unidentified miscreants allegedly vandalised the Ultimate Fitness Centre (UFC) Gym's windows and attempted to set it ablaze on Thursday night.

In a disturbing incident amidst the ongoing unrest in Manipur, unidentified miscreants targeted the Ultimate Fitness Centre (UFC) Gym located on the second floor of Samadon Building in Kwakeithel Nimthemkon, Imphal West.

The incident took place on Thursday night when the miscreants allegedly vandalised the gym's windows and made an attempt to set it ablaze.

Condemning the act while speaking to the media at the gym on Friday, its convenor Loitongbam Ratan clarified that the establishment is jointly owned by A Deepak and Th Leo in franchise with an American company and the building itself is owned by one N Anjubala.

Ratan emphasised that the gym has been established with the sole purpose of producing talented Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters and is not affiliated with any political parties or leaders.

Highlighting the gym's commitment to providing high-quality facilities, he stated that the equipment used at the gym is imported from America at considerable costs, ensuring that MMA players in Manipur have access to international standards.

The gym also accommodates several international MMA players who currently train there and additionally, it offers free coaching to aspiring MMA fighters, he said, adding that the members of the gym actively participate in various issues concerning Manipur.

He appealed to all concerned individuals to refrain from attacking the gym in the future, emphasising the importance of preserving the facility and its contribution to the development of MMA in the region.
