The Phundrei battalion of Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR (South), apprehended an insurgent of proscribed group PLA from Wabagai Keithel Macha, Kakching district on Friday.

Based on specific input, troops of the AR, along with Manipur Police, launched an operation which led to the apprehension, said IGAR in a release.

The apprehended insurgent was handed over to Hiyanglam Police Station for further legal proceedings, it added.
