Two Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) cadres, David Hangshing and Seikhochon Hangsing were arrested on Sunday afternoon by the Saikul police.
They were arrested for allegedly blank firing several rounds in the air using fire arms in a rash or negligent manner at Lhungtin village near T Gamnom designated camp during a victory procession to celebrate the winning of Kimneo Hangshing on March 10 night.
According to police, an FIR had been lodged at the Saikul police station for investigation in connection with the alleged blank firing.
In the follow up action, Saikul police under the supervision of its officer-in-charge Ng Anthony Suresh and overall supervision of SP of Kangpokpi Amrita Sinha and in coordination with 22 AR posted at Saikul arrested the two individuals, said police sources.
The other arrested KRA cadre is identified as Seikhochon Hangshing, 39, son of Lellam Hangshing of Lilen Village, Peren District, Nagaland.
KYKL members arrested
A combined team of Thoubal Commando and a column of 16 AR arrested two active members of KYKL from Yairipok Bazar Charangpat Lamkhai near a bridge on Sunday at around 10 am, police sources said.
As per the source, the arrested active members were identified as Ngasepam Nikson Singh @ Puya (22) son of Ng. Khomei of Sinam Mayai Leikai and Chanambam George Meitei @ Angousana (20) son of Ch. Kabilal of Takyel Khongbal.
The arrested persons have been handed over to Yairipok PS for further necessary action, the sources added.
