A team of Kangpokpi district police seized brown sugar, opium and world is yours (WY) tablets and arrested two drug peddlers on Friday.
The arrested persons have been identified as one Seiginmang of S Bongpi from Motbung and Letminlal Haokip of Saitu.
The police team seized six soap cases containing suspected brown sugar weighing around 237.63 grams, including the weight of soap cases; everyday milk powder packet containing 1.010 kilogram of suspected opium; 2 chewing tobacco tin containing suspected opium weighing 75.63 gram and one blue packet containing 200 suspected WY tablets weighing 20.09 grams from their possession.
One mobile phone was also seized from their possession.
A case has been registered at the police station concerned for further investigation.
