Training on plant protection, on-farm bio inputs held

Training on plant protection was organised by the Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) under the sponsorship of the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA).

A one-day training programme on ‘Plant Protection and On-Farm Bio Inputs Preparation’ for Taosuam Farmer Producer Company under Mission Organic Value Chain Development For North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) Phase -III was held at Luangchum (Awangkhul) Community Hall, under Noney district on Saturday.

The programme was organised by the Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) under the sponsorship of the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA).

During the training programme, Organic Man Agri Solution/distributor Peter Panmei spoke as a resource person On-Farm Bio-Inputs Preparation and Organic Crops Management.

A demonstration class to the farmers on "On-Farm Bio Inputs Preparation" was also conducted by the resource person. Field inspector Romila Phaomei, DSSS also spoke on the topic of Plant Protection.

Field inspectors Guangjuanliu Gonmei and Martina, DSSS, Gaisangam Lawrence CEO, Taosuam Organic Farmers Producer Company and the board of directors also attended the training programme and spoke in the programme and encouraged the farmers.

A practice of making organic manure was also conducted as part of the training programme.

The training programme was organised to produce purely organic foods and promote livelihood and sustainability to the rural farmers.

The programme was taken part by the farmers coming from seven different villages under Taosuam Organic Farmers Company Ltd.
