Speaking on the occasion, Deben said that launching of such projects is much necessary in the state. Many children in the state are abused sexually, mentally and physically and to control the crime, training and sensitisation on child sexual abuse is much necessary.

He also said that media is also taking a vital role to spread the message against child abuse. Severe punishment need to be given against the accused of child abuse so that such activity is not repeated in future.

People are aware of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. However, the training and sensitisation programme will give awareness to the people on how to prevent the happening of such crime, said Deben.
