Three UG cadres apprehended from Indo-Myanmar Border

The UG cadres were apprehended while infiltrating into Indian territory.

A total of three cadres of proscribed insurgent groups, namely KCP and UNLF (K) were apprehended by a column of 8 AR from the general area Aloyo, Kamjong district near Indo-Myanmar Border on Monday.

They were apprehended while infiltrating into Indian territory and handed over to Chassad Police Station for further legal action, as per a report lodged by Kh BK Singh, G/5007383 Rfn. /GD of 8 Assam Rifles.

The apprehended persons are Kangujam Lanthoiba Meitei alias Khadrakpa, 23, son of Kangujam Birammangol of Khongman Basikhong, Imphal East district, Manipur (KCP); Yumnam Chinglemba Meitei alias Ibungo, 27, son of Lt Yumnam Bocha Meitei of Ngairembam Awang Leikai, Imphal West, Manipur (UNLF - K); Malemnganba Singh alias Heikrujam Chintam Singh, 25, son of  Heikrujam Nobin Singh of Nungoo, Kakching District Manipur.

A regular case under FIR No. 2(2)2024 CSD-PS U/S 20 UA(P)Act has been registered for investigation.

Meanwhile, an Assam Rifles column led by Major DK Gurung of 22 AR rescued one individual from Gamgiphai, Kangpokpi district and handed him over to Sekmai Police station on Wednesday at 10.25 am.

The individual is identified as one Thongam Pran Singh, aged 53 years, son of late Th Budhi Singh of Wangbal Heinuthong Leikai, Thoubal district.
